We've tried to get to the mouth of Lemoigne Canyon exactly once. The turnoff can be tricky to find as the NPS sign is set back from the main road. Ugh! rough, really rough. The trail cuts through the washes at 90 degrees. It seems that each of the washes is exactly the right distance to scrape the tail of the truck on entering each dip. 23 wash crossings in first mile. Forget this, this is no fun..... we're turning back. 23 wash crossing getting out. This trail probably varies on when the last rains hit the valley, but as it crosses the main wash at right angles, it'll be rough no matter when you go. Maybe one day we'll go back. |
